PRESS RELEASE
MULTIPLE AGENCIES SEARCHING FOR ESCAPED INMATE
JULY 5, 2018
The George County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC), the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), MS Department of Wildlife, Fisheries & Parks (MDWFP), and Lucedale Police Department (LPD), are searching for escaped inmate Michael Floyd Wilson. Wilson escaped from SMCI in Leakesville earlier today, where he was serving a life sentence for a murder conviction in Harrison County. Wilson was given a ride under false pretenses to the city of Lucedale, where several agencies are currently searching for him. Wilson is a 47-year-old white male described as 5 feet 11 inches tall with hazel eyes and weighing approximately 160 pounds. Wilson was last seen wearing camouflage clothing and looks different than his mug shot: his hair is longer and curly. He may show signs of injury to his upper torso. At this time, officials do not have reason to believe he is armed, but Wilson should be considered very dangerous. If you see this individual, or have any information on his whereabouts, please contact the George County Sheriff’s Office at 601.947.4811.
This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information concerning this or any other crime is encouraged to contact the George County Sheriff’s Office at 601.947.4811.
