Patrol Division

The Patrol Division is responsible for patrolling all county roads and providing a visible presence as a proactive measure to help deter crime. Deputies patrol and enforce state and federal laws and county ordinances throughout all areas of George County. Deputies respond to complaint calls, crimes in progress, take reports, serve warrants and civil papers, investigate accidents on county roads and state highways, transport prisoners and perform a wide array of related duties. They also provide assistance to other law enforcement agencies in George County and surrounding areas when called upon. Sheriff's Deputies have jurisdiction throughout both the incorporated and unincorporated areas of the county.

All patrol deputies are required to be certified as Law Enforcement Officers by the Mississippi Board of Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Training before being allowed to perform unsupervised patrol duties. Patrol Division provides 24 hour 7 days a week protection to the citizens of George County.
