The George County Communications Center is the central dispatch center for George County. It serves as the central E911 answering center to dispatch fire, ambulance and rescue as well as the Sheriff's Department.
The Communications Center is staffed with a Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) for the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and eight dispatchers. The Communications Supervisor is responsible for staffing and coordinating the training and recertification of all dispatchers according to the Department of Public Safety Standard and Training guidelines.
These dispatchers are the lifeline between the public and emergency services in the county.
