Drug Arrest
May 10-15
On Tuesday, May 10, 2011, George County Sheriff’s Department responded to a suspicious vehicle call located at the Red Creek Bridge on CF Ward Rd. A search of the area led to the arrest of Johnny L. Bolton Jr (41), and Lisa M. Carter (34), both of Wilmer, Alabama for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance “ecstasy”, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Deputies recovered approximately three grams of methamphetamine and ecstasy tablets with a street value of approximately $435.00. Also recovered was approximately $355.00 in cash. Deputies transported both Bolton and Carter to the George County Regional Jail.
On Thursday, May 12, 2011, agents with the George County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Division, Lucedale Police Department Narcotics Unit and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics conducted a traffic stop on a 2000 Toyota Camry that led to the arrest of Steven D. Roman (27) and Micheal T. Byrd (22) both of George County. A search of the vehicle revealed approximately 100 Lortab pills, 30 Methadone pills, less than a gram of Methamphetamine, and 15 grams of synthetic marijuana known as spice which has a street value of approximately $1,000.00. Deputies also recovered approximately $747.00 in cash. Deputies transported both Roman and Byrd to the George County Regional Jail, both were charged with possession of a controlled substance with Intent to distribute
On Friday, May 13, 2011, agents with the George County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Division, Lucedale Police Department Narcotics Unit and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics arrested Lisa Dawn Cooley (45) of Greene County for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute Methadone. When the arrest was made agents seized approximately 600mg of Methadone. This arrest occurred inside the city of Lucedale and Cooley was transported to the George County Regional Jail.
On Sunday, May 15, 2011, deputies with the George County Sheriff’s Department conducted safety checkpoint at the intersection of Central Firetower Road and Dick Hobby Road. A search of the driver of a 2002 Saturn driven by Joshua C. Gautier (21) of George County revealed approximately eight ecstasy pills. These pills had a street value of $160.00. Deputies arrested Gautier for possession of a controlled substance “Ecstasy”. Deputies transported Gautier to George County Regional Jail.
These arrests were investigated by the George County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Division, Lucedale Police Department Narcotics Unit and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
