George County, MS – Sheriff Dean Howell says the Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in identifying the armed suspect who robbed the 4 Mile Truck Stop on Sunday morning at approximately 4:40 a.m.. The truck stop is located on Highway 98 East in George County.

Detective ben Brown says store personnel and witnesses say the suspect is between 5’5’ and 5’9” tall, slender build at approximately 150 pounds. He has dark hair and spoke with an accent described by witnesses as ‘cajun’ type. He appeared to be in his mid to late 20’s. The photo above was taken from video surveillance of a man who was in the store sometime Friday. According to clerks the man pictured walked around the store and bought a drink before leaving. Witnesses identify the photo as the suspect wanted in the armed robbery of the truck stop.

The suspect at the time of robbery was wearing a black hoodie and dark grey jeans and brandished a semi-automatic handgun at the store clerk and demanded money. He left the store on foot and got away with approximately $1,200 in cash. Det. Brown says the suspect may have had assistance in getting away, or had a vehicle parked away from the store.
